I know it's been forever since I've posted. A virtual death sentence to an online business, for sure! So... I'm probably typing this to myself right now. But that's ok.
I've spent the last few months totally enveloped in caring for my infant son and grandaughter. When the rare moments occur that they both nap at the same time, I try to focus all of my attention on my sweet 4 year old daughter who is my right hand, and the joy of my life. Then once the 8 and 10 year old come home from school, the whirlwind of homework, dinner, and bedtime routine takes over. By the time I can settle down to create, I am just too exhausted. But don't mistake this as a self-pity post! I find few things in life fulfill me as much as tending to my little flock. And I am blessed with a husband who keeps me laughing and feeling beautiful even when I've worn the same pj's 3 days in a row! He's a keeper.
It hasn't all been a non-creative period though. Michael and I are really enjoying our passion for photography and spend lots of time together with our little ones and the cameras. I must admit that although I am the one with the more "creative eye", and can do all the tricks with the digital editing, he certainly takes a better picture! We've always loved sharing our artistic interests, and this is another area where we can really blend our individual talents to create something that reflects both of us. We'll be opening our new Etsy shop soon where we are featuring a lot of our photographic art.
I have missed so many of my online friends. I do hope that I can find that balance between being a mom and an artist that works for my family.
Peace & Love,
