My son...

I just stole this pic from my son's facebook photos. (I know, I know...) No, I can't give you a link to it. I haven't "friended" him, and quite frankly, I wouldn't recommend it. There are just some things a mother and son don't need to know about each other... LOL
But, I digress...

I saw this photo, and it tugged at my heart. I have one taken when he was 7 years old that almost matches it perfectly. We were visiting a friend on Cape Cod. Mike and I took the kids to the beach. It wasn't summertime, so there was hardly anyone there. We walked for miles. Josh had on highwater sweatpants, if I remember correctly. Almost everything ended up being a highwater at one point or another, as he grew like a weed. Now... he's 6'3".  He's a hard worker, devoted boyfriend, loving brother, and caring son.

But when I look at this photo, I still see the 7 year old boy, way up ahead of me on the edge of the water, in awe of the vastness of the ocean, and carelessly chasing seagulls in the wind.

He's my first born, and I love him more than he knows...

funny that you are talking about your son as this past weekend when my oldest son was at the house with his girlfriend. For the first time I thought.. He is a man now. It was sort of a strange though proud thought. and then I thought, I guess I shouldnt call him snicklefritz anymore!
lol
have a great week linda.

This is lovely. I have pics of my sons on the beach when they were really little and now I wonder if one day when they are young men, will I have a picture to compare them to like you do? :) It's a beautiful thing being a Mother, what a blessing from God.
Thanks for sharing this precious moment.
Hugs and blessings
