Walking on Eggshells...

This week's Illustration Friday word prompt was "atmosphere". In keeping with my "what comes to mind first" mentality with this weekly challenge, I went with "walking on eggshells". Unfortunately, it's an atmosphere I know too much about.  I wish I could just be me with people, and politely tell it as it is and "get over it"... or go on. Instead, I keep it bottled up, and walk on eggshells because I'm always trying to keep the peace. Sad thing is... that's not true peace. It's "not fighting", but it's not peace. Everyone feels it. Everyone knows there's underlying hurts and anger. It feels ... well... as fragile as walking on eggshells.

Fortunately, my hubby lets me vent all the steam to him. I never have to walk on eggshells with him. :)

Update...
I didn't notice until I saw this sketch posted, just how egg-shaped the girl's head is. hee hee... Kind of brings it all home, doesn't it? 'Cause it's kind of eggheaded to walk on eggshells, now isn't it ;)

Brilliant, love the image, love the idea behind the image - I'm very similar.
This really resonated with me

I like your idea of doing what comes to mind first and going with it. It can be a chance for self discovery. Our work speaks to us. Lovely drawing! I enjoyed your post. And thanks for stopping by! :)

Linda;
yes, I think we all know this feeling very much. God has taken me on such a journey through this... I don't feel like I do this anymore... too much anyway. I love your drawing! I have given you an award on my blog because I love your blog... I am so glad that I have found it! Hugs and blessings to you
